Help answer the question about travel vacation destinations
Is a return flight from business related travel to a vacation spot still a business expense?I live in Austin, Texas and was in San Francisco for a few days on business, and had a vacation in Europe planned right after that. In order to save me some traveling time and money (I am self-employed) I flew to my vacation destination (Germany) directly from San Francisco instead of stopping in Austin. My question now, is that flight considered a business related expense, at least partially? I know that that the flight from Austin to SFO is a business expense… but not sure about the return flight.

Thanks for the great content. keep up the great videos
good work
I wouldn't want to try to defend this in an audit.
If the cost from SFO to Germany was the same as Austin to Germany, you will not get a deduction. If the cost from SFO to Germany was $500 more than Austin to Germany, you *might* be able to argue the $500. Get screen captures of the ticket prices. Of course, waiting until now to get the screen captures will make it more difficult to defend the costs on the day you flew.
I love it. I took a trip last month, It was great. Barely Cost me anything.
Cozumel, Mexico
For the last four years, I have been taking my family to a unique family resort in Vermont on Lake Champlain for our big summer vacation — it is a converted family farm that offers a really amazing vacation where everyone (mom and dad too) get a REAL vacation. We love and the kids love — obviously because we keep coming back — Check out http://www.tylerplace.com
It is so cool — the kids have group (all segmented by age) in the mornings so the adults can play (everything from kayaking and mtn bikes to pottery or yoga.) Then we do family activities in the afternoon, then back to group for the kids and we get a grown-up meal at the inn. There is so much to do — an incredible place. Everyone who goes keeps coming back the same week so you make awesome friends and so do the kids. Stay at the Inn or in cottages around the lake — all meals provided, awesome water sports and activities — anything you can imagine.
I'd go b ack to the Turtle Bay Resort in Maui in a heartbeat. So beautiful there and the air smells of pineapples.
Also, Rome, Italy. Best pizza and gelato in the world!

New Orleans… you can do all of this except ride roller coasters. There's a couple of casinos just steps from the French Quarter, lots of clubs of all sorts, there's no last call, and it is a fun, fun, fun place! New Orleans is open for business post-Katrina and if you stick to the tourist areas you would hardly notice a hurricane had even been there. But the folks who work there could sure use your tip money, and will be very appreciative. I was there a few months ago, and I got stellar service everywhere I went. Had a blast!
Hello, I can give you some tips, first of all, you really don't need to use a travel agent to come here. Everything here is very cheap. The people normally don't speak English, but you will fell welcome in almost places you go.
Try to search another place to go, Rio de Janeiro is the most dangerous town in our country.
Recife is a very Beautiful place and it has a famous carnival parade, "o galo da madrugada". Where there are almost 2 million people walking, dancing and singing trough the streets for 3 miles.
The beaches around this town are marvelous. "Porto de Galinhas"…"Tamandare"….."Boa Viagem"….You will apreciate.
