Canada is a beautiful vacation destination – with 10 provinces and three territories – it is the second largest country in the world, with 3.8 million square miles (9.9 million square kilometres), this beautiful country touches three oceans – the Pacific, Atlantic and Arctic. Besides the 151,473 mile-long coast line, Canada’s provinces and territories have a lot to offer travellers. Each of the country’s provinces and territories include some truly wonderful vacation destinations.
British Columbia
British Columbia is on the West coast of Canada and boasts two of the country’s top destinations for vacation. The city of Vancouver, which is located on the mainland, boasts many tourist destinations including the Vancouver aquarium. The city of Victoria is on Vancouver Island and has many different tourist hot spots, including many nautical and naval centers that thrive in the tourist sector. At both Vancouver and Victoria, you can enjoy water sports such as sailing, water skiing, scuba diving and much more. On the mainland closer to Alberta, nestled in the Rocky Mountains, you can enjoy Radium or Fairmount natural sulphur hot springs, known world wide for their healing qualities.
Alberta
There are two main cities in Alberta – Calgary and Edmonton. Edmonton, the capital of the province, offers many different places for tourists to enjoy. Calgary is famous for the annual Calgary Stampede, held the second week in June. Calgary is also famous for the Calgary Tower, which contains a revolving restaurant that provides a nearly 360 degree view of the city. From either Alberta or British Columbia, you can access the Rocky Mountains. In Alberta, Banff is a town nestled in the mountains, and it offers many specialty stores and natural sulphur hot springs. These hot springs are an excellent way to relax.
Saskatchewan
With both Regina and Saskatoon in the province of Saskatchewan, there are plenty of opportunities for vacation places. This province has many cultural attractions such as museums and national parks. If you plan a trip to Saskatchewan, you may want to consider visiting the Mendel Art Gallery or the Buffalo Pound Provincial Park.
Manitoba
During the summer months, there are plenty of tourist places to visit in Manitoba. One of the major places to see and enjoy is Minnedosa Lake, which is a popular lake resort and summer hot spot for locals and tourists. There are other lakes and lake resorts throughout the province to enjoy also.
Ontario
Ontario is one of the hottest places to visit in Canada. Toronto, the largest city in Canada, as well as Ottawa, the capital of the country, both offer impressive tourist destinations to visit. Toronto and its surrounding areas have many stores, museums and of course, the CN Tower. Throughout the southern end of Ontario, there are miles of lake front property along some of the Great Lakes. There are also many different wineries in the southern end of the province, particularly around Niagara on the Lake. Another attraction that you cannot miss in Ontario is Niagara Falls. From Niagara Falls, you can see both the Canadian and United States sides of the falls, which are beautiful day and night.
Most people when considering a trip to Canada often end up going to Ontario to visit these major attractions, as well as many more that reside within the province.
Quebec
Quebec is a richly historic location to visit, especially throughout Quebec City. Quebec has many attractions to consider visiting and these include many cathedrals and other historic buildings. However, you should keep in mind that the primary language in Quebec is French.
New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland
These provinces are the maritime provinces of the country and each offer a unique experience. In Nova Scotia, there are many naval centers to enjoy, including places like Peggy’s Cove, Halifax harbor and Dartmouth. Prince Edward Island is a beautiful little island nestled in the Maritime Provinces. The view is something to behold in this great tourist destination for your vacation.
Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories, Nunavut
These three are the impressive territories of the north in Canada. The Yukon Territories are on the western end of the north and are attached to Alaska, which is part of the United States. Beside the Yukon Territories is the Northwest Territories, with Nunavut nestled underneath. There are many things to see and do in the territories, however many people do not consider these tourist destinations because of the intense cold that often envelops the area.
Throughout Canada, there is much to see and do. Vast spaces of land, farm land and wildlife preserves, from the Pacific to Atlantic oceans. You can also visit the Rocky Mountain Range to the flat western provinces; there are many things to enjoy throughout this wonderful country. Canadians pride themselves as being known for their kindness. Visit Canada and enjoy wide open freedom and fun in the second largest country in the world.

Help answer the question about vacationing destinations
Is there a website where I can search vacation destinations based on my dates? It seems that all the travel websites work in this fashion: Choose your product (i.e. flight, flight & hotel, hotel only); Choose your dates; Choose your departure city; Choose your DESITNATION….they then show you all the flight and hotel options for that one destination.
Are there any sites out there that let you type in the dates you are looking to take a vacation?…then they offer suggestions and pricing on various destinations throughout the us/world? I have done lots of travel and am not really "picky" about a certain destination, rather would like to explore various options without having to type in a different destination every time I do a search. Thanks in advance for your answers!

you need to shut up! what best friends does is wonderful!!!!!! if you watch the show or learn about it then you can judge it but how could you think people that save animals lives is BAD!?
yeah no strollers stupid!
South end of Central Park. As you walk along the paths through the southern end of the park starting at Columbus Circle (59th street and Broadway at the SW corner), you'll see a playground, a carousel, a skating rink, and the Central Park Zoo. And across from the SE corner on 5th avenue is the ridiculously huge toy store FAO Schwartz. Great place to take kids as long as you're good at saying "no, you can't have that $300 life-sized teddy bear".
Anywhere in Mexico. Basically, 10 US dollars will buy you a small town in Mex
Best Friends is wonderful! I am a sophomore in high school, and a youth leader for Safe Humane Chicago. Best Friends sponsors us to go to elementary schools in underprivileged neighborhoods across Chicago and talk to kids about kindness to animals, compassion, proper care of animals, and the horrors of dog-fighting an animal cruelty! Ive met 3rd graders with the most horrible tales of animal cruelty which theyve WITNESSED!
I’m heading there now and will be volunteering for a couple of days. I can hardly wait!
you are an idiot
Without spending a fortune going to Disney World I would suggest going to Branson Missouri. The hotels are really reasonable and oodles of things to do with kids.Look up their web site. We love it.

This isn't my normal recommendation, but for a couple your age, I recommend camping on the Outer Banks.
Pitch a tent on Cape Hatteras and you'll not only have a cheap vacation, but it will be a lifetime memory. It's not as bad as you might think, and laying on the sand looking up at the stars and sleeping to the sound of the waves crashing is crazy romantic and soothing at the same time.
During the day you can visit the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, ride a ferry or two, play some putt-putt or bumper boats. You can also rent a dune buggy and tear up and down the beaches. Visit the horses up in Corolla, and one of the bars in the Nags Head / Kitty Hawk area. Check out the Lost Colony, Elizabethan Gardens and the Wright Brothers memorial.
I know it's not action packed, but if you want quality time with someone you love, it is perfect.
wow! Way cool! I found out about best friends, when I went to New Orleans this past Oct 08. I came across and bought the book “Not Left Behind.” What a wonderful place, and looks like so much fun to work at! I am so jealous! Thanks to everyone that Helped out/ volunteered at Katrina! x’s and o’s to the kitties, dogs, and others!
I personally have not been to Best Friends, but have been wanting to. Where do you see strollers? All I see are dogs being dogs–digging, rolling in mud, playing with water, barking…?
There are quite a few popular destinations in Manitoba.
One of the top draws is Churchill MB. The train ride you can take up to Churchill is amazing. Once there, the Tundra Buggy rides to see polar bears in their natural setting is something many people never dream of experiencing. The northern lights are awesome, and the beluga whales in the bay just bring it all back to nature and its beauty.
Each year thousands of people also come to Winnipeg. Being the largest city in Manitoba, there is always something going on. Folklarama is in the summer and celebrates Manitoba's diversity in culture. Festival du Voyager is in the winter and celebrates the early ways of life in Manitoba with the Metis people. Corydon Street Fest…Folk Fest at Bird's Hill Park, so many others.
Back up in northern Manitoba, there are also summer and winter festivals. In The Pas you can search for the ice worm and see dog sledding and fur trapping as part of the Trapper's Festival. Thompson has Nickel Days. Flin Flon is the only place in North American named after a sci fi character, and they have the Trout Festival.
Dauphin has Country Fest and Ukrainian Festival which are huge draws.
Grand Beach draws huge crowds for its beaches. Clearwater Lake just outside of The Pas is one the three true blue lakes in the world. There is also the International Peace Gardens at the border. Spirit Sands at Glenboro bring people out to see the "Manitoba Desert" and all the sand dunes there.
There is so much more. The link I gave can help you too.
(The beginning part of this post is underneath)At the moment, were raising money for a class service trip to the sanctuary over spring break! You can visit the best friends home page to find an article about us (its called Chi-Town Teens)! We would be grateful for any donations to our trip-fund and we are also just overjoyed to be spreading the message of kindness to animals to others!
