As much as cosmetic surgery is a personal choice and should only be undertaken if it’s something that you believe will benefit you, it could be the case that there are several other people who will notice a positive impact on their own lives after you choose to undergo surgery.
This tends to be considered truer for weight loss surgeries, where patients undergoing gastric bypasses and lap band surgeries discover a whole new lease of life when the weight begins to come off and they find they have a lot more energy. That means that not only do they benefit from better health and mobility, but their families can enjoy the advantages too.
For example, if a patient was overweight to the extent that they couldn’t play with their children in the garden or take them on days out because they’d become too exhausted, then massive weight loss can literally turn a family’s life around – as well as help ensure that children learn about exercise and develop positive habits with their parents.
But what about other surgeries that are strictly for aesthetic purposes? There’s a lot of judgement from some people about how the industry is perceived as ’shallow’ – which is simply not true. There is nothing ’shallow’ about feeling significant emotional turmoil due to the way you look. Most people have experienced feeling self-conscious at one time or another, and surely people can apply those feelings to understand what a torment it can be to be unhappy in your own skin.
Some people who were bullied when younger due to their looks can find a new life following surgery, with rhinoplasty, breast surgery or ear pinning procedures amongst the most prominent choices. Some people find that, by undergoing surgery, their libido returns and their relationship with their partner gets better and it’s normally nothing to do with the way their partner perceives their attractiveness, but has far more to do with how attractive they feel themselves after having surgery.
Aesthetic cosmetic surgery absolutely benefits the person undergoing the treatment most – and that’s the way it should be. One thing it doesn’t do, however, is harm others – so this personal choice is exactly that, personal

What are some good cosmetics for lightskinned blacks?I am a lightskinned black woman and I have a hard time finding cosmetics in drugstores that are the right skin tone. Either they are too light or too dark. There seems to be no in between. I can't afford the higher end products all the time(department stores) can anyone help?

check out my videoo on lush
i have the lush legends gift set!!!!!!!!
if it's a vanity issue, in the long run not much. it only holds for so long before the skin stretches and you get to do it again. if it's a need then by all means do it. it will help you face the world with a new attitude.
age lines, smile marks and crows feet show the world that you have come thru to the other side and you are proud of who you have become.
i would think you didnt receive answers due to this question being in the Philosophy category, which if you are just asking for opinions on it, personal opinions, that would be fine, but it seems you want detailed info, which would seem to get into the medical and psychology fields,,,,,
i think, like most things, it can be used for good or bad, caring about ones appearance is not wrong, nor is it a result of low self esteem,, at the same time, if you place too much importance on outward appearance or expect it to solve your problems, then you have entered a negative area,
our bodies are of course part of our total selfs, we develop and use technology in other areas, i see nothing wrong with using it in cosmetic surgery,
i suggest for the details you want, you research the effects of it,
Brilliant!! Thank you for this tip!
I think that as long as it's used to enhance/correct and not alter an appearance, it's a great thing.
At 21, I had my nose done. It was a very slight change, and people asked if I had changed my make up.
I LOVE my nose!
Yes actually I have. SLS is a foaming agent and a surfactant – it makes the bubbles in the product and can be derived from natural ingredients. If it was unsafe it would not be allowed to be used for human consumption. Its completely your choice whether you use these products or not. I personally like them. They do not irritate my skin. They are fun and a nice change from the average soap or bath bomb! Lush on ladies and gents…..
Pros: If you have something very wrong, you can get it fixed and help you feel more 'normal'. The problem is you can get addicted and then see perfectly normal bits of your body as abnormal and therefore get addicted to cosmetic surgery. Case in point: A woman who got so addicted to cosmetic surgery that she injected her own face with cooking oil: http://www.cosmeticsurgerybible.com/2009/news/cosmetic-surgery-addict-injects-face-with-cooking-oil/
There is also controversial cosmetic surgery to help you overcome the way you look for example in Down's children: http://www.cosmeticsurgerybible.com/2008/news/controversy-over-cosmetic-surgery-for-downs-sydrome-children/ Is this good? Debatable…
Does cosmetic surgery benefit everyone? No. There are studies out there which claim that having breast implants raises the risk of suicide by up to three times (source http://www.cosmeticsurgerybible.com/2007/types-of-surgery/breast-enlargement/breast-implants-linked-to-suicide-risk/)
I LOVE YOUR HAIR
my gf works there,for her job conf. reason i cant say where…. just ask for samples. tell them you really wanna try this product but dont want to spend that much since you havent tried it. they should accomidate you and give you some samples. be nice and im sure they will. for you bro, get him rub rub rub shower gel. i always use that, smells great. have any specific q’s shoot me a pm and ill see if i can get the answer.
no it is not true. the only cosmetic surgeries that are performed are for medically necessary reasons. there are a small number of hospitals that will offer them just becuase but the list is quite long..often over 2 years and you must jump through MANY hoops to include a Psych consult to get on the list.
they offer it to keep their surgeons in practice,. I doubt that tattoo removal would even qualify.
year ago my husband suffered from hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:
1) Vitamin A – an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;
2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;
3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;
4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);
5) also he used herbal treatment – TrichoZed
It is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!
It worked and still works for him!
I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.trichozed.com/?id=fc7a24
It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) – a major cause of hair loss!
good luck!
i go to luch like all the time and i love it!
i love how different ur hair is. it is soooo cool
Yes.
I L-O-V-E your hair in this video, its sooo cute!
What a sad, sad thing. I don't know who he is but from the news announcement on the TV it seems like he was super close to his mom. If it was because of cosmetic surgery, it is a prime example about the hidden dangers of having this type of surgery. People don't think that it's dangerous but it can be. She was a nice looking woman. No need for any plastic surgery.
My sympathy to him and his family.
