Call the resort they should have a shuttle that can meet you, and its normally free. If you take a taxi be prepared to be scared within an inch of your life. Not to say the Shuttle is less scary.

I cannot think of any resorts in the area of Mexico (category) that would have a Las Vegas feel. My recommendation would be to take a Carnival cruise to Mexico. Crusing is wonderful, relaxing and a lot of fun. Carnival ships are known as the "fun ships" because they have lots of parties, gambling, drinking, etc. They also have shows that everyone says has a Las Vegas feel to them. Carnival is the least expensive of all cruise lines, so that may be helpful as well.
The price you pay for your cruise pretty much includes everything. Food, accomodations, entertainment, etc. The only things you would need to pay for is gambling, alcohol, and on land tours (you can get tours as a shore excursion once you get to the port).
I'm not sure if this is something that would interest you. But this is what I would recommend just based on what you described that you wanted. It seems like it would really fit your interests quite well.
