Of all the surgical procedures completed by plastic surgeons, a rhinoplasty (or nose job, nose surgery) is most likely the most complex. A rhinoplasty operation can be completed with all the surgical incisions on the inside or with some on the skin; the surgery can be performed with or without using cartilage or bone grafts; the surgery can be performed for breathing difficulties and can also be completed completely non-surgically using injections of skin fillers to fill out some of the nose skin to hide minor imperfections in the nose.
Assessment Before Nose Surgery
A full assessment of the nose is carried out before rhinoplasty surgery. You will need to say what you would like to achieve and what you do not like about your nose. It is quite important to be very clear about this, because there is so much we can do on a nose, and being very specific is supportive to the surgeon. Your surgeon will ask you about your physical health and whether you have any previous relevant concerns with your nose (operations, injuries, breathing difficulties, and so on). The examination involves looking and feeling the nose internally and externally along with a breathing assessment. Your rhinoplasty surgeon will also have a look at the skin of the nose and will assess the size and shape of the rest of your face. Most people are looking for a nose that is in harmony with the face. If, for example, the chin is too small, this may give the nose an apparently prominent appearance in the face. So, sometimes your plastic surgeon may talk about other additional procedures.
How We Perform A Rhinoplasty
To do a rhinoplasty, we need to get access to the cartilages and bones that form the structural framework of the nose. Together, the cartilages and bones form the skeletal support of the nose, and nose job surgery changes these structures. Your skin then re drapes across the new skeletal framework. A “closed rhinoplasty” is one in which the incisions are made on the inside of the nostril, and an “open rhinoplasty” is one in which a small incision is made in the skin under the tip of the nose which separates the two nostrils. Some nose reshaping surgeons do more open rhinoplasties as they feel they can predict the final outcome more readily, but other surgeons do more closed rhinoplasties as the final result is achieved with less swelling and a shorter recovery period in a procedure that already has a notoriously long recovery period before the final results are seen. For a week or so, a plaster is usually used on the nose, and have a couple of packs inserted to prevent nose bleeds for a day or so.
Expected and Unexpected Results
Final results may not be seen for at least a year but nose reshaping, there are some things we expect during the recovery and some things we hope not to see. We expect a change in the contour of the nose; we want this to be your expected outcome, but everyone needs to be realistic about the perfectsize and shape of the final result. Most of the time we cannot give the patient the ideal nose they have pictured in their mind as their perfect nose. We are hoping for great improvement rather than idealism. Some of the after effects we hope not to see include things like infections, abnormal bleeding and swelling, over and under-correction, cartilages and bones moving after they have been set in a particular position, asymmetry, healing problems and breathing difficulties. Occasionally, the final results of any nose surgery do require further surgery. And remember, your nose actually continues to grow throughout your life so it will change shape as the years go by.
Conclusion
With all the complexities and intricacies involved in nose job surgery, it is probably one of the most challenging cosmetic surgery procedures to do well. Most nose surgery surgeons will be happy with a patient who makes a considered judgement about whether to go ahead with surgery. If a surgeon charges for the consultation then it is a small amount in comparison to the cost of surgery, so don’t let that put you off making an informed decision.

Help answer the question about cosmetics
What are the best cosmetics for oily skin?I'm not sure what's prompted my skin to suddenly become oily and prone to breakouts after 21 years of clear skin. I would appreciate any tips on skincare and cosmetics, particularly in finding a foundation that works well with oily skin.

ur skin is great looks so smooth and creamy
Brilliant!! Thank you for this tip!
hmmm…i agree since you're younger, you probably want to understate your makeup…A LOT. so stick w/ matte and neutral colors (like brown, beige, gold, etc) which will enhance your features rather than cover them up. if you want to try eyeliner, don't use black or grey. instead, use brown which looks natural. some inexpensive brands that i would use are maybelline and covergirl. however, some products tend to be a bit heavy. a really good mascara is neutrogena weightless volume which was my first mascara! it's really light so you can hardly tell that it's there, and it hardly clumps at all! as for shadow, a good product is maybelline. they have shadows that have three different shades of one color. good luck!
oh, and this site has how-to videos that show how to apply makeup. just click on "how-to videos" after you get to the site.

I L-O-V-E your hair in this video, its sooo cute!
go to mac. it has the greatest range of shades and you can try it. that is the main problem with drugstore brands. i suggest mac since it is not too expensive, it works very well and has a the greatest range of colours and products.
here are some ways to save money:
use a wet sponge to apply your foundation. you will use less, gives good coverage (if you get a full coverage foundation), and give a very smooth and natural looking skin.
use a loose powder with a big face brush. it lasts forever…much longer than the compact and gives a great natural look.
buy drugstore lipsticks, eyeshadows, liners, etc.
i do suggest buying a good blush though as it has to match you and you should be able to try it on.
drug store lines i like:
l'oreal shadows have good pigment so what you see is generally what you get and it goes on well.
maybelline great lash and l'oreal voluminous.
rimmel is inexpensive and works well.
love the sonis kaschuk (think that is how you spell the last name) products at target. she has great brushes.
keep in mind that if you get stuff that looks great on you, you will not have to spend that much on make you will never use.
even though i am a makeup artist, my personal makeup bag is very small and has the items i use everyday…one lipstick nars dolce vita. one blush nars orgasm, one lancome 4 colour eysehadow palette, one laura mercier liner cake and one l'oreal mascara, armani foundation, chantecaille powder and concealer and bobbi brown shimmer brick. that is 8 products. the only 8 i use everyday and it takes me 5 minutes to do a full face since i do not have to make decisions and i always look consistent and polished. other than the mascara and lipstick, the other products last me at throughout the year.
Yes actually I have. SLS is a foaming agent and a surfactant – it makes the bubbles in the product and can be derived from natural ingredients. If it was unsafe it would not be allowed to be used for human consumption. Its completely your choice whether you use these products or not. I personally like them. They do not irritate my skin. They are fun and a nice change from the average soap or bath bomb! Lush on ladies and gents…..
i go to luch like all the time and i love it!
Aw, I love this! I am TOTALLY against animal testing & I'm the biggest animal lover EVER! I wear NYX, Smashbox, M.A.C, & Revlon. None of which are tested on animals. Here's a website to see what brands aren't tested on animals.. http://www.idausa.org/facts/crueltyfree.html
I'm guessing it costs quite a bit. The actual manufacturing could easily be done in your kitchen and at a very low cost. But you'd have to do product testing to ensure public safety and would be well advised to talk with an attorney about what liabilities you might have. You'd also want to protect your various products through patents. Lastly, it's not like there's a real shortage of cosmetics out there so you'd need serious capital to market your product.
Yes, most generic and store brands are made by major manufacturers. Sometimes these generic are the same exact product as a more expensive "name" brand. This is true on cosmetics, food products, well.. really most anything.
Singapore stores – u can head to Misha, The Face Shop or even Skin Food. All Korean brands – cheap n very good!
I LOVE YOUR HAIR
hahaa i get all the cheap drug store stuff…hey it works… plus when it runs out you can just buy more conviently!! also you can buy as much stuff for less!!! =]
green people i have used these for 3years now it has sorted out a lot of skin prob with people i know
Firstly, if I were you I'd speak to a doctor/ dermatologist or at least a beauty therapist about what might be causing your breakouts. It could be as easy as changing your diet or addressing a hormonal imbalance.
In the meantime, maintain your 3 step cycle of cleansing, toning and moisturising morning and night, using a scrub at least once a week will remove dead skin debris which can clog your pores further, try a mask as well Payot makes an excellent drawing out mask.
When it comes to make up, use a foundation which is (obviously) oil free but also (very important) non-comodogenic and non-acnedogenic, this will prevent blackheads, whiteheads and pimples that can be caused by make-up.
The kind of foundation you buy will also depend on the finish you want. If you want to mattify your skin a powder-based/ pancake foundation with those qualities I mentioned above will work best because the powder particles absorb oil a lot better.
If you're after a more natural finish but still want coverage a liquid foundation (again, with those properties I mentioned before) will work well. The liquid foundations melt much more easily into the skin so they give a much more radiant, natural finish. Applying it with your *clean* fingers will give you an even better result.
If you're after top quality, Clinique is wonderful. They have over 36 different types of foundations at least 10 of which are for your skin type, in many forms, so you can see if you like solid make up or liquid more. If you want something that will still work but won't break the bank, Revlon Colorstay makeup for Oily/ Combination Skin (liquid) is what I use for everyday and it has fantastic coverage with a very natural finish. Their pancake is also very good.
When it comes to the zit end of the equation, foundation can't do it all. A concealer is your best weapon. You can use a green stick to neutralise the redness of your spots and then cover with some foundation and a little brush or another concealer that matches your skin tone.
Never bulk up your make up, that includes foundation *and* concealer. You won't hide the imperfections completely, what you need to do is minimise them and draw attention away from them. This is easily achieved with matt products and colours that *match* (a concealer that is too light/ dark will *draw* the eye to your flaws).
And remember, for any skin problem: "Chin up and a concealer in your pocket." The rest will take of itself.
my gf works there, for her job conf. reason i cant say where…. just ask for samples. tell them you really wanna try this product but dont want to spend that much since you havent tried it. they should accomidate you and give you some samples. be nice and im sure they will. for you bro, get him rub rub rub shower gel. i always use that, smells great. have any specific q’s shoot me a pm and ill see if i can get the answer.
