How much does it cost to use the fitness/gym facility at a local YMCA?Does anyone have a gym/fitness center membership to YMCA? I need a gym membership and I heard it is cheaper to go to a local YMCA. Anyone know how much they are charging per month and if they require you to sign a contract? I'm just looking for a one-facility use, standard fitness center membership.

o.k. here is the thing, people and i mean it seems like everyone is loosing grip on reality when it comes to wieght loss. diets are to the point of making me mad, most do more harm than good. see what you eat is not near as important as how you use it. here is a fact, and remmeber this because as i just said it is fact. there is only one thing that burns fat…only one….it's called muscle. thats is fact. even cardio, yep your heart is a muscle.. and your body when hungry will first burn muscle first if it is not in use… so dieting without excersise is a step back wards. seriously.. and i have heard "but i dont want to be a muscle women/man" i'll tell you what when you start to look that way back off, i''ll garantee by then you will be skinniy. And its not hard seriously, just focus on using muscles, and you'll start loosing inches. i say inches because muscle wieghts more than fat, so initiallly you may gain wieght, but loose inches, and that is something to get excited about. Because that means you have more fat buring potential. and the inchest will go faster. Eventually you will balence out and the wieght will drop. Why do you think it was easier when you were younger?, it's not age, it's strength.
It can be anything lift your hands over your head till your arms are tired. hold your leg out straight till its tired, press on the wall, stand on your toes… these are things you can do anywhere anytime that will help strengthin your body..and ultimately make you loose wieght.. Trust me its fact. the problem is society is lazy, new inventions make life easier and easier, thats why as a whole we are getting fat because life is requiring less strength.
it depends on how much time you want to spend for it. .gym will provide you with guidance and you can get in shape in no time.but if you follow a proper diet,run regularly,that will do the job.you can even buy some equipments (4 exercise) to get some muscles at home.

lifetime fitness gyms are great and are definitely worth the money…the one in my town has a hair/nail salon, 2 basketball courts, a kids play area, 3 pools, 2 hot tubs, a cafe, and has massages in the salon….its awesome!!!

weight training will not make you lose fat.
cardio is the only fat burning exercise – do it for 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat.
dont forget that diet is a key to fat loss – diet is 75% of the whole thing.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours – it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast – they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner – repairs muscle
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.

If you don't eat meat u need 2 get your protein somehow, trying going 2 gmc and buying protein like nitrotech that's what I use, take it after u workout, don't get n e thing with creatine in it, all that does is fills if mucsles with water, then u lose muscle mass when u stop taking it, but the best way to build up will b to eat some kind of meat after u workout

SINCE YOUR JUST STARTING DO 2 SETS OF 15 OR SO. INCREASE AS YOU GO.
ALSO CHANGE THE CARDIO ROUTINE AS WELL LIKE IF YOU RUN ON THE TREADMILL ONE WEEK THE NEXT WEEK DO THE STAIR MASTER ETC. YOUR BODY GETS USE TO DOING THE SAME ROUTINE SO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO CHANGE UP A LIL SOMETHING SOMETHING IN IT
DRINK LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER! AND I MEAN LOTS THE MORE YOU DRINK THE BETTER YOU WILL FEEL! DONT EAT AFTER 6. DONT EAT ANY FATNIN FOOD OBVIOUSLY. IF YOU TRYING TO TONE UP GO TO GNC OR ANY PLACE TO BUY PROTEIN SHAKES ETC ASK THEM THEY WILL GUIDE YOU TO SEE WHATS BEST FOR YOU!
