The most striking feature of 90s songs is the incredible variety of genres that made their mark. All in all, no one genre dominated the entire era but each genre produced their own great bands and songs.
It wasn?t easy to choose a couple of songs from this era to feature in this article. Nevertheless, I finally made a decision and my only hope is that you enjoy what I have to offer.
(Everything I Do) I Do It For You ? Bryan Adams
<P>One of the best love songs from the 90s, if not the best. The fact that it remained on top of the US charts for 7 consecutive weeks is testament to its beauty and impact. Overall, it was highest selling song in the world in the year 1991. The beauty of the song is that the message is both simple and powerful: the only way to show your true and unshakable love for someone is by being willing to do whatever it takes for that person. A true ballad for the ages.Iris ? Goo Goo Dolls
When I think of this song, I always think about the movie City of Angels. This is normal because it was the film that took the song into the mainstream and made it one of the memorable tunes from the 90s. Unfortunately for Goo Goo Dolls, this song was not permitted to chart until it became a commercial single. It only reached number 9 in the charts when it was released as a single. If it had been released earlier, it would have been one of the biggest number one hits of the decade. It is still a great song nonetheless loved by many around the world.
End of the Road ? Boyz II Men
In 1992, Motown came back to prominence with the release of this record breaking song in 1992. In total, it spent 13 consecutive weeks at number 1 in the United States, which Boyz II Men would break twice in the 90s. The song deals with an imminent breakup between 2 lovers, where the man does not really want to let his woman go. The voices of the singers blend together very well and soon their style became to get copied. As a result Boyz II Men led the way for a new era of boy bands in the 1990s.
Overall, the 90s were a wonderful period of music where no genre dominated throughout. As the songs above show, 90s Songs have the ability to remain timeless and played over and over in the future.

this list is badass!
i started having flashbacks when i got to the last 20 songs
I agree there needs to be tool somewhere on the list but for the most part I’d say he covers most of the popular songs in the 90s
im so over smells like teen spirit being number 1 for everything>:(
it’s good….but im just so sick of it lol.
i think zombie should have been higher up.
and wonderwall – im glad that was on there:D
This is the most bunk list ever
WTF is Tool?
I think Tool’s Sober or Schism are more popular than half the songs. I guess I’ll let it slide since Tool should have a category of their own. Certainly one of a kind.
you obviously never heard the whole song.
huh? diff ppl like diff music so everyone has dif opinions
i only have a few complaints. but instead of being a bitch about it like SOME PEOPLE, i’ll be subtle. here’s what i would’ve done differently:
1. instead of time of your life, put basket case.
2. there needs to be a sublime song, preferably santeria
3. needs a tool song, either stinkfist or prison sex
4. instead of 1979, have cherub rock
5. i would’ve liked some black crowes and maybe some rollins band and pantera.
that is all.
