So you’re going on a trip. Fantastic! Exciting! But what sort of trip are you planning to take? Is it for business or pleasure? Where are you headed? Who are you going with? Just what kind of travel experience do you want?
Traveling on a budget can give you all sorts of experiences, depending on a) your budget, b) where you want to go, and c) what you want to do. Everyone’s budget will be different, and traveling on a budget means knowing how much money you can afford to spend and sticking to that amount. So if you have a budget of two thousand dollars, your travel experience will be different from someone who has a budget of ten thousand dollars. It’s all relative to the dollar amount, but knowing some tricks to help you save money while traveling will make your dollars stretch further therefore increasing your travel experience.
Do you want to travel overseas? Do you want to travel around your home country? Do you want to stay in luxury accommodation or are you going to back- pack? Are you traveling with children or are you honeymooning? Are you traveling with a bunch of friends or are you keen to experience a group tour with strangers? Do you want to go to popular tourist sites or do you want to experience a destination’s way of living in remote areas?
All these questions are things you need to ask yourself before you begin to plan your trip. You can either plan your trip with your budget in mind, or plan your trip, work out how much money you’ll need and save until you can get there. The first is probably a little easier to do because when the travel bug hits, you generally want to take off as soon as possible. Knowing your budget can guide you in making your decision of how and where you will be traveling. But if you have your heart set on a trip of a lifetime to an exotic island in the Pacific then you will need to save accordingly. It’s your choice.
Once you know what type of experience you are after, it’s time to work out the best way to get it on your available funds. Traveling on a budget is easier than you think these days. No longer does it mean living on stale food and sleeping in questionable accommodation. If you are wise and spend some time investigating deals to your chosen destination you could be able to enhance your traveling experience more than you thought possible. A bit of research will get you a long way when traveling on a budget.

Help answer the question about traveling
When traveling with kids still in a car/ booster seat what state laws should I follow?I am planning a vacation for my family and I have a 3 year old son who is in a booster seat. The booster seat he is in follows the law in the state we live. When traveling do I need to follow my state law (since that's our residency) or do i need to follow the law of each state we go through (4 states)? Each state is different so that means I may need a differnet type seat depending on the state and their law. I have already found the child safety seat laws for each state we will be traveling through, I just don't know if those laws apply to residents of the state or for anyone traveling through the state. What do I do, or where can I find this information at?

a 2 year degree in hospitality would be fabulous. but still you dont need it . you graduated high school right? thats all the technically required. they also like people who are good at langauges, good with people and who have travelled extensively. isee your questions regarding trips, so i'm sure you do fine on that account.
Go to the nearest community college, they must have some certification program. You don't need much though, I think some computer skill will make it
Planning is the enjoyable part. The difficult/stressful part is the actual traveling. I would want a service that is available to help me if/when flights are canceled or delayed. Also, what about getting to a hotel and finding it's substandard? I would want someone who could quickly get me to a better place.

Having travelled twice around Europe with the same backpack, this is definitely the way to go (hands free, weight distributed on shoulders, waist). As you are only going for 1.5 months, you will have more than enough room for all your stuff. Pack it then take half your clothes out – you will not need them!

I used Yahoo travel to book a holiday last year and didn't have any problem. Everything worked perfectly. I can't recollect seeing any bad reviews about the Yahoo travel service it's self.
Here are some things to consider, beyond the price of gas.
First of all, if you are going to be travelling extensively, you want at least a 25 ft trailer or motorhome. Anything smaller and you will be less than comfortable. Whether or not you want something larger will depend on your own desires and circumstances.
You don't want to have to turn your table or couch into a bed everynight, trust me. That is fine for camping trips or a short family vacation, but for a retired couple seeing the country, you want to just be able to get into bed without the hassle.
As far as gas usage goes, it depends in part how much driving you will be doing while staying in one area. If you anticipate going 100 miles or more every day, the small car would probably be best. Otherwise, its not going to make a lot of difference between the two options.
One thing to consider, especially the more frequently you will be setting up, is that it takes more time, energy and effort to unhook and set up a fifth wheel, then hook it back up to the truck, than it does to set up a motorhome and attach-detach the the towed car (called a toad, lol). Another consideration along these lines, is that in a motorhome, you are right in it all the time, no having to get out of the truck to go get into the trailer at rest stops, parking lots, and the like.
On the other hand, if you like going into more rugged areas, you may find the truck/fifth wheel combination preferable, esp when the trailer is parked, you can take a truck places you cant take a small car.
I would not recommend the SUV/travel trailer option, as they are more susceptible to problems on the road with swaying behind the tow car, etc.
Other thoughts: if you have slideouts, make sure you can get to the bathroom and to the refrigerator/sink without having to first open a slideout a little bit. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but there are areas in parking lots, rest areas, wide spots in the road where you may pull over to use these, but there isnt room to safely open a slide out even part of the way. I recommend getting a vehicle with at least one slideout, the room it gives makes a huge difference.
Make a list of things that you want, or will want to take with you, then take this with you when you look at available floorplans and vehicles.

I went to France partly alone but i was never really alone. You meet so many people. I had a few drunk men giving me unwanted attention but you get that everywhere.
As long as you stay in pretty busy places and be sensible – you'll have no problems.
Obviously some countries are worse than others but you should be fine =)
