Beginning a daily healthy eating plan is becoming more popular these days, than it was a few years ago. As we hear more attention brought to the problem of young children becoming obese, and getting diabetes, and the huge health risks associated with being overweight, more people are trying to lose weight and get healthy.
Starting another diet however, is something most people do not look forward to. Many times it is not the first attempt at losing weight. Quite often it is an ongoing cycle of weight loss and regaining over and over. If you have been through this cycle of dieting a few times, it is definitely time for a lifestyle change.
Dieting over and over, is not only frustrating, it is also not good for your health. As you get older it becomes harder to keep getting the weight off. The problem with a diet is, it’s probably an eating plan you do not intend on staying with for the long term. That is usually, a recipe for failure.
I know, back in my dieting days, I couldn’t wait to lose a few pounds so I could go back to my regular eating. Needless to say I was on the never ending diet cycle. I finally decided, after fifteen years of the yo yo diet syndrome, that I was tired of it, and got on a plan of eating healthy, and have never looked back.
To start your new daily health eating plan, you need to remove the word diet from your mind. This is not a diet, this is your new healthy lifestyle, that will make you look good, feel good, and can add many healthy years to your life.
To start your new healthy lifestyle, don’t pick a day to start like you do with a diet. That just causes stress. Start your new plan today. Remember, you’re dieting days are over. Start making little changes every day toward your new lifestyle. There’s no stress here, just work at your own pace, as long as you’re making a little change every day.
Maybe give up that can of soda that is full of sugar, for a low sugar sports drink, or water, even if it’s only a few days out of the week. It’s a start. Tomorrow you might give up that calorie buster breakfast for a bowl of healthy cereal with fresh fruit on top, and low fat milk.
For lunch give up that greasy fast food meal one or two days a week, for a chef salad with balsamic vinegar for dressing, a piece of fresh fruit, and water with lemon, or a low calorie beverage.
For dinner a couple of days a week, replace a calorie loaded meal, with a light but filling meal like chicken breast, without the skin, a vegetable, and a small baked potato.
Be careful with the flavorings, like butter, salad dressings, oils, and sauces like gravy. They can often have more calories than the meal itself.
Did you know a baked potato has 60 calories, but that same potato made into French fries has 600 calories.
The healthy meal plan above could save you one thousand calories or more in one day, depending on your normal eating habits. That would be fifty two thousand calories a year you could potentially save, or fourteen pounds of fat, just from doing this one day a week.
Learn to read food labels before buying. You may be shocked at the calories, sodium and carbohydrates in something you thought was healthy. The numbers on the label, are multiplied by the number of servings stated to be in the container. So if the label says 300 calories, but it tells you there are four servings in there, that item has twelve hundred calories.
Make a list of healthy foods to eat. Take it with you when you go shopping. Try to stick to your list as much as you can, but as I mentioned, do it slowly. Make a list of the 10 healthiest foods, which in my opinion are fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, beans, legumes, poultry, fish, some dairy like milk for calcium, garlic (has great antioxidants), and water (yes water, a must for weight loss and general health)
Eating healthy does not mean going hungry. It is simply a plan of getting the foods that have caused the weight gain, (flour, sugar, salt, and oils) out of your life, and getting healthy again. I think you will find, that after a few weeks of making the change, it will start to become an addiction.
You begin to find new ways to make great meals that are healthy and delicious. When you go to the grocery store it becomes fun to find healthy items to put in your cart. It becomes fun to sit down to a filling healthy meal, and walk away from the table feeling good. Once you get to this point you will know what I mean.
Beginning this daily healthy eating plan can be one of the best things you will ever do for you. And when you start to look and feel better, you will know it is the right path to be on.

Also too much business traveling can prevent you from eating healthy
Trust me
It sucks…especially the Jet lag, and the cup of coffee doesn’t do the body justice either. Thank you for the info…I think everyone should strive and eat healthier.
I eat pussy on my lunchbreak and i eat ass for supper 6″0 225 8% bf never looked back. Philly represent
Flax seed is an excellent source of soluble fiber, the fiber that helps reduce cholesterol. The AHA recommends 25-30 grams of fiber daily. 2/3 cup of flax seed contains around 28 grams of fiber. It also has lots of other really good components such as vitamins, minerals and unsaturated fatty acids.
There are lots of other good high soluble fiber sources, beans being a good example.
Very starchy…Eat baked potatoe skins…it where all the vitamins are and not the starch or calories.
strange.. ?
hmm… =//
Eat cucumbers with Veganaise which is an organic dressing that is a better alternative to mayonaisse. I used to eat cucumbers a lot in high school and I went from a size 11 to size 3 within a year and it also helped that I did a 100 jumping jacks almost every day along with eating cucumbers as a snack.
For me personally, it's the fourth paragraph. You began with the side effects of eating unhealthy, but then you lost it and went back to healthy eating. Maintain the same main subject in each paragraph, don't jump around. This can confuse the reader, or like the teacher said, create a loss of flow. Also, in your second paragraph, try this sentence instead of the one you have: "This list is only a portion of a large variety, consisting of plenty of fruits and vegetables you may enjoy."
Another thing, try to use positive yet non-forcing words. The reader may feel as if your pushing them, rather than informing or encourging them. For example, instead of saying "you will" try "you may". Hope this helps!
I have to asume that your 40-65 hour job is pretty sedentary…get a job that has you running around like a waiter in a busy diner…Incorporate the exercise in your daily routine…dammit, Man you are in College, think outside of the box! If these are your problem solving skills in action, then I dread your future..LOL just kidding
it really shouldnt be too hard to get in some good cardio, ride a bike to/from work/school? Like I said think outside of the boix figure it out…its not a difficult problem..
Thank you!
hhm yea it is pretty tough to keep up with the exercise while working and going to school full-time. You can try doing things like climbing up the stairs instead of using the elevator… if you walk around alot then that can contribute alot to the weight loss..
drinking water instead of juice and soda pops can help since those are usually loaded with calories… although avoiding coffee maybe a good idea but it is okay to a have cup a day (go with regular or an expresso rather than cappacino or mocha). It's okay to drink some sweet like a Diet Snapple which contains Splenda instead of sugar (from what I've heard).
I would avoid eating a muffin from a shop (unless homemade) because they usually have trans fat and saturated fat. Suprisingly a donut has about 80 calories or more (less than a muffin).
Having 5 meals a day (including snacks between meals) is better than 3 meals or less, and it can increase your metabolism and help you lose weight faster.. so it is also important.
Having enough sleep is also important to maintain the metabolism otherwise it will decrease… so try to get as much sleep as possible.
If you have to time to stop by at gym, you can do a little bit of cardio and working with weights… don't necessarily have to be there for an hour or more… since walking can contribute to losing more calories… if you can do this like 5 times a week, you'll definately be able to maintain your weight better.
It's all about time management, but I do agree that it's hard at times.
i like girls yes i do how bout u
lol.. what about if your at skl
how are yu saposed to take such a massive bottle of water
&& put it where exactly? lol
maybe if i was sitting home all day i could do it exactly like that
but thanks anyways ;D
wow. Looks like you had allot of thought to this. My thoughts to this. People have been drinking milk for positively centuries and millenia. If you like it, drink it. If you don't, don't.
thanks
I'm very excited for you recognizing how important not only healthy weightloss is but a healthy lifestyle as well. What activities to you go now? A workout routine really isn't necessary at your age as long as you're being active. However, it is a good idea to exercise because it becomes so important as you get older. Get a routine that provides 30 minutes of cardio activity 3 to 5 times a week working at a moderate intensity which means on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the working very hard, you go to a 5. Lifting weights would be good too. (Don't worry, you won't gain a lot of muscle). Do a full body routine a couple days a week. Lift heavy enough so that your muscles tell you they had a good work out.
For many younger ladies, if there is a weight issue, (providing there is no medical condition), it's because of the type and amount of food eaten. Stay away from junk food and processed foods. Stick with whole wheats and grain. Set a limit on how much you eat. Only eat until you are satisfied, not until you are stuffed and schedule your eating so that you eat several small good meals throughout the day.
I hope this give some information you can use. Good Luck!
