If they can't find facts, they will simply make them up. But you know what ? Their lies and miss-statements always catch up to them eventually. But then they start to make up more, so it is a vicious cycle.
Just forgive them for their ignorance, do the best you can in life and keep in mind that at least you (and many other educated people) know better.
