<p>Weight Loss Tips from Ayurveda: </p>
<p>1. Ayurvedic Diet for Weight Loss: </p>
<p>Obviously an anti-kapha diet is the place to start when looking to lose weight. This means eating lots of fruits, vegetables, spicy foods <span id="more-151"></span>and whole grains. </p>
<p>2. Exercise for Weight Loss: </p>
<p>The following Ayurvedic guidelines should be followed for proper exercise with regard to weight loss: </p>
<p>* More Exercise the Better: Kapha\&#8217;s qualities of fixed, dull, heavy, soft and cold are all negated via exercise. In other words, the more exercise you do the more you reduce Kapha and therefore fat in your body. </p>
<p>* Exercise Without Excessive Strain: According to Ayurveda, Kapha individuals need the most vigorous exercise, but at the same time, the exercise should never be extreme. Find a good balance between doing too little and over doing it. Breaking a nice sweat is good, but being totally breathless is probably too much. </p>
<p>* Be Consistent: A Kapha body type has a propensity towards weight gain so you need to make exercise a daily part of you life. The hardest part will be to get the exercise program underway. Once this is done Kapha people tend to be very determined and steady, so they will be able to adhere to it long term. Getting started though is another matter for Kapha types and usually requires shock treatment. In the spirit of shock treatment, understand that by NOT exercising and NOT losing the weight you are putting your longevity and quality of life at risk. Enough said, start today! </p>
<p>* Yoga for Weight Loss: Yoga offers an excellent way to include holistic exercises into your fitness program. These exercises will not just help you lose weight, but will also help your overall health and well-being. </p>
<p>* Post Exercise Diet: After exercises do not drink cold liquids. This period is key as you are trying to increase the metabolic fire in your cells so they burn more calories and drinking cold liquids at this time will negate this important benefit which exercise bestows. </p>
<p>3. Hard Physical Work to Burn Calories: </p>
<p>According to Ayurveda reduction of Kapha is promoted by living a physical, active lifestyle. In today\&#8217;s age of technology, computers, TVs, TiVO, internet, etc, manual labor is getting more rare for people to do. So you need to consciously incorporate physical work into your life. Whether that be mowing the lawn, tending to the garden or shoveling snow, it is important to not live a sedentary live of watching TV and eating twinkies. </p>
<p>4. Massage Therapy to Reduce Fat: </p>
<p>There are many treatment modalities in Ayurveda of which massage is highly recommended. In the context of weight loss and reducing Kapha, strong massage with light oils such as mustard or flaxseed is helpful. </p>
<p>5. Sleep Guidelines for Weight Loss: </p>
<p>No napping or going to bed early. If you want to reduce Kapha and weight remember you burn more calories when you are awake and being active, than when you are happily snuggled under the blanket. </p>
<p>The above recommendations will surely help you with your weight loss goals and in addition to helping you get slim, they will also make you more healthy and fit.</p>

<p> In building the muscles, not many people know that the main requirement for such a goal is to develop all the target muscles without the help of supplements in the form of drugs or steroids. This way, any harmful and toxic substances can be prevented from entering the body and ruining one’s chances of having physically healthy and well-built muscles. Some people may think this can’t be done, but the truth is that many successful bodybuilders <span id="more-158"></span>have triumphed in bodybuilding competitions without getting any boost from drugs or steroids. The secret is simply performing fitness workouts. </p>
<p>Many fitness gurus out there try to convince the general populace that they can get the body they want – including the muscles they desire to show off – by following an effective workout regimen. These gurus are right. Instead of believing in the marketing campaigns of countless products and services claiming to be the best bodybuilding solutions out there, you should try out to stick to a regular exercise schedule and do tried and tested exercise techniques for building your muscles. Fitness workouts, unlike pills or supplements, do not contain ingredients that may cause adverse effects. What’s more, you can do them without the use of too many pieces of expensive equipment. </p>
<p>One of the most basic exercises for working out when trying to build the muscles is the chest builder. This exercise requires lying on a flat bench, just like what you do when you perform bench presses. With a small bar that has curved hand areas, put your hands toward the very center and keep your index fingers five inches apart to achieve best results. Place the bar between the center of your chest, at the nipple region, and move it an inch above your face, behind your head, and finally as close to the floor as possible. Pull back to the starting position, careful at all times to keep the bar just an inch above your face or chest. If it’s your first time to do this exercise, use only 10 pounds on each side and work from there. </p>
<p>Of course, you don’t just want to have a big chest; you want big forearms, too. This will make you look physically even and well-toned. Fitness workouts for getting big forearms should only be performed twice a week. Any more will bring out funny results, like overly worked out forearms dangling beside a medium-sized chest. You can use a light dumbbell while sitting on a bench. Grab the end – not the middle, as most forearm exercises require – of the dumbbell as you perform slow wrist curls; squeeze at contraction to ensure maximum growth for the muscles. First finish three sets of eight before doing eight sets of reverse wrist curls with a lighter dumbbell. This simple workout can significantly enhance the current size of your forearms, as well as improve your forearms’ muscular definition, allowing bumps to pop out in a really nice way. </p>
<p>Other fitness workouts that you should concentrate on are strength and size routines, aerobics, and whole body exercises. Remember to compliment your training with the proper diet.</p>

<p>The most important thing is that it should be as simple and as fun as possible, while being well suited to your fitness levels and preferences and of course your time schedule is crucial.</p>

It is a good idea to have some different and not do exactly the same exercise day after day. You want to be sure you are not working only a few muscle groups. You can either do a special workout routine for a few weeks and then change to another free fitness program.<br />Choose a time to exercise that suits your schedule and then follow it. with this schedule you should not be constantly changing. It is best to go for the same time every day, but do not over do it even 2 times a week can be enough.</p>

<p>Most people prefer to work out first thing in the morning. It is a great way to wake up. But if this does not suit you, go for later in the day, but always wait at least 2 hours after eating. It is hard to do a fitness program in the morning.</p>

<p>A good fitness exercise program will last for about 30-45 minutes. You can include 10-15 minutes of stretching and warm-up exercises, followed by 15-25 minutes of fitness exercise program and 5 minutes of cool-down.</p>

<p>As an example the aerobic fitness exercise program could be done on home gym equipment such as a treadmill or exercise cycle or you could run or cycle outdoors.You do not even need equipment, there are several great free fitness programs that you can use. If you like dance or just walking, do it. Step aerobics is another option. Alternatively, the stairs in your house or apartment block can be very effective aerobic exercise equipment without spending a dime.</p>

<p> Beginning a daily healthy eating plan is becoming more popular these days, than it was a few years ago. As we hear more attention brought to the problem of young children becoming obese, and getting diabetes, and the huge health risks associated with being overweight, more people are trying to lose weight and get healthy.</p>
<p>Starting another diet however, is something most people do not look forward to. Many times it is not the firs<span id="more-198"></span>t attempt at losing weight. Quite often it is an ongoing cycle of weight loss and regaining over and over. If you have been through this cycle of dieting a few times, it is definitely time for a lifestyle change.</p>
<p>Dieting over and over, is not only frustrating, it is also not good for your health. As you get older it becomes harder to keep getting the weight off. The problem with a diet is, it&#8217;s probably an eating plan you do not intend on staying with for the long term. That is usually, a recipe for failure.</p>
<p>I know, back in my dieting days, I couldn&#8217;t wait to lose a few pounds so I could go back to my regular eating. Needless to say I was on the never ending diet cycle. I finally decided, after fifteen years of the yo yo diet syndrome, that I was tired of it, and got on a plan of eating healthy, and have never looked back.</p>
<p>To start your new daily health eating plan, you need to remove the word diet from your mind. This is not a diet, this is your new healthy lifestyle, that will make you look good, feel good, and can add many healthy years to your life. </p>
<p>To start your new healthy lifestyle, don&#8217;t pick a day to start like you do with a diet. That just causes stress. Start your new plan today. Remember, you&#8217;re dieting days are over. Start making little changes every day toward your new lifestyle. There&#8217;s no stress here, just work at your own pace, as long as you&#8217;re making a little change every day. </p>
<p>Maybe give up that can of soda that is full of sugar, for a low sugar sports drink, or water, even if it’s only a few days out of the week. It’s a start. Tomorrow you might give up that calorie buster breakfast for a bowl of healthy cereal with fresh fruit on top, and low fat milk.</p>
<p>For lunch give up that greasy fast food meal one or two days a week, for a chef salad with balsamic vinegar for dressing, a piece of fresh fruit, and water with lemon, or a low calorie beverage. </p>
<p>For dinner a couple of days a week, replace a calorie loaded meal, with a light but filling meal like chicken breast, without the skin, a vegetable, and a small baked potato.</p>
<p>Be careful with the flavorings, like butter, salad dressings, oils, and sauces like gravy. They can often have more calories than the meal itself. </p>
<p>Did you know a baked potato has 60 calories, but that same potato made into French fries has 600 calories. </p>
<p>The healthy meal plan above could save you one thousand calories or more in one day, depending on your normal eating habits. That would be fifty two thousand calories a year you could potentially save, or fourteen pounds of fat, just from doing this one day a week. </p>
<p>Learn to read food labels before buying. You may be shocked at the calories, sodium and carbohydrates in something you thought was healthy. The numbers on the label, are multiplied by the number of servings stated to be in the container. So if the label says 300 calories, but it tells you there are four servings in there, that item has twelve hundred calories. </p>
<p>Make a list of healthy foods to eat. Take it with you when you go shopping. Try to stick to your list as much as you can, but as I mentioned, do it slowly. Make a list of the 10 healthiest foods, which in my opinion are fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, beans, legumes, poultry, fish, some dairy like milk for calcium, garlic (has great antioxidants), and water (yes water, a must for weight loss and general health)</p>
<p>Eating healthy does not mean going hungry. It is simply a plan of getting the foods that have caused the weight gain, (flour, sugar, salt, and oils) out of your life, and getting healthy again. I think you will find, that after a few weeks of making the change, it will start to become an addiction.</p>
<p>You begin to find new ways to make great meals that are healthy and delicious. When you go to the grocery store it becomes fun to find healthy items to put in your cart. It becomes fun to sit down to a filling healthy meal, and walk away from the table feeling good. Once you get to this point you will know what I mean.</p>
<p>Beginning this daily healthy eating plan can be one of the best things you will ever do for you. And when you start to look and feel better, you will know it is the right path to be on.  </p>

Physical fitness is difficult to maintain, especially amid the stress and strain of contemporary lifestyles, with little opportunity for exercise and recreation.</p>
<p>The vital components of physical fitness are <em>cardiovascular strength and endurance</em>, <em>respiratory effic<span id="more-146"></span>iency, muscular strength</em> and <em>flexibility</em>. In addition, a number of other factors such as environmental, chronological and physiological age and genetics influence physical fitness.</p>
<p>However, it is important to note that the physical fitness methods you adopt should not be identical with someone else, since one&rsquo;s physique and physical conditions are never exactly the same as someone else. Though physical activity or exercise acts as a catalyst to achieve physical fitness, a well-balanced diet is essential to true health. A regular and systematic workout and planned meals are a recommended way to maintain physical fitness.</p>

Refined flour, processed foods, canned foods, junk foods, cakes, pastries, sweets, chocolates, carbonated beverages, colas and sodas should be avoided as far as possible.</p>

Exercise helps to deal with depression, stress, anxiety, makes you more alert, sharp, increases your concentration power, and decreases the risk of various diseases like heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
