Central Park SummerStage 2008 Central Park SummerStage 2008 has announced a full schedule of events and performances. You'll find live music, dance, spoken word readings, comedy, films, and more. The fun begins on June 13, 2008 and runs through August. More than thirty of the SummerStage events are free, though there will also be several benefit concerts that will charge admission to subsidize the free SummerStage programs. All programs will take place rain or shine and will only be cancelled in the event of dangerous lightning during a performance. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster or by calling 212-307-7171. Admission: Admission to all free performances is on a first-come, first-served basis, no tickets required. Gates open 90 minutes prior to performances at benefit concerts, and 60 minutes prior to performances for free programs.
