Fifteen Minutes of Model Talk
By: Isobella Jade
Each week Isobella Jade, petite model and author shares insight into the modeling world on her modeling podcast called Model Talk. These fifteen minute quickies on the modeling business share tips on: How to get a modeling agent, how to work as a model regardless of your height, how to market yourself as a model, and how to find your own modeling work.
As a height challenged model and author of the book called Almost 5'4"-hence her height, the show is targeted towards the petite model, but any model or aspiring dreamer can get useful information about marketing themselves.
Isobella says on the segments, "Today the modeling business is also about self promotion and I think of the show as a quick pick me up with a grab your bootstraps message. A lot of girls think they can't model, or don't try because they feel they are too short, but I am very short and I have been able to get a lot of modeling work by thinking like a marketer and promoting myself as a model in areas of the business that work for me, not against me."
In a world where America's Next Top Model and other reality shows give a perspective into the life of a model and what it takes to be one, Isobella shares a refreshing, honest portrayal of what it means to be a model and the real marketing that is involved.
"I try to give advice that I wish someone would have given me, it is a lonely, dodgy, seedy business and entering it alone and trying to weed through the scams, the jerks, and not make mistakes, and get work can be hard..but it is very possible."

Stay Pretty While Being Friends with Mother Nature
I realized recently that it is really easy to be Green and help out Mother Nature and still be the sassy, fashionable, high-heel wearing girl you are! Here are five tips for being Green on the Go, without sacrificing your face or your lipstick!
These boots ARE made for walking: Living in New York City I walk everywhere, cabs are hardly apart of my day. Well..unless it rains and I am caught without an umbrella, otherwise I am running around the city in heels on a daily bases. Also a nice walk does good for your soul and your thighs!
Yuck! Did you know that there's some gross stuff in your lipstick and foundation! To be beautiful with Mother Nature in mind why not try Flower Fusion lipstick from Origins, which is made from Flower Wax, and waxes include Jasmine, Lavender, Rose, Raspberry, Violet and Orange Blossom. Although sometimes buying products that are earth friendly do cost more I have found some cost effective ways to also be Green! Even brands like Jane and N.Y.C New York Color, and Revlon has mineral makeup now! So you can help your skin and have a beautiful face by incorporating some earthly elements!
Respect the Water you use and don't use: Instead of leaving the water running while you brush your teeth, shave your legs or for no reason at all, turn it off when you really are NOT using it.
Don't litter it's not very sexy: After chewing that gum don't throw the wrapper on the ground, and remember even cigarette butts on the ground is littering!!! It is never an attractive thing to throw anything on the ground all together. Also it is so easy to recycle, paper cups, paper plates, cans, plastic forks, even wrappers from the dry cleaner can be recycled, so try as much as you can at home or on the go.
Plastic make me spastic! If you don't need a straw for your drink then don't ask for one. Don't create waste. In the bathroom, don't use a million paper towels unless you are bleeding, air dry (I shake my hands and then sometimes freshen up my hair with the water drops left on my hands.) If you don't like to carry a canvas bag for your food shopping then why not re-use the plastic bags from last time, and don't forget that you can also re-use your water bottle a few times before you throw it out.
